Trumpeter John D’earth makes a relatively rare appearance. Charlottesville-based, but with a national reputation, the trumpeter’s burnished lines appear on recordings ranging from Miles Davis to the Dave Matthews Band. For the past couple decades, he’s played an anything-but-pedestrian Thursday night gig at Millers on the C’ville pedestrian mall. It is an opportunity to hear one of the area’s best musicians in arguably the city’s best intimate venue, the plush darkness of the Rabbit Hole downstairs at Vagabond. 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. vagabondrva.com.
