Re: “Remembrance: Bob Hardtimes

What a beautifully written eulogy. I knew Bob in the 80s. I managed Stuffy's Upstairs when he managed Hard Times. Always funny, a bit sarcastic. I believe at one point he also managed a comedy club downtown. He kept telling me I should do stand up there and left the mic open but I knew I wouldn't be funny.

Like many of us I reconnected with Bob on Facebook. He backed me up on a lot of political debates but gave me much grief on the Redskins name. In his honor I'll probably change my mind on it.

It was a special scene back then. We were among the last generation of college students in America who could drink at 18. That gave us great opportunities to have cold ones and see bands. All of us bartenders never paid cover at other bars and we always tipped our fellow bartenders generously.

So many good times at Hard Times. It truly was the great bar ever.

Rest in peace Bob...
