Re: “Five Eye-Openers From the Trial of Former Richmond Pastor Geronimo Aguilar

It greatly surprises me that he was found guilty based only on verbal allegations of the supposed victims. A verbal allegation is not logical proof of its truth or validity. The statement " X is true" does not, in any way, logically establish with certainty that X is actually true. Evidence, other than the statement "X is true" must be gathered and used to demonstrate the truth or falsity of the statement, "X is true". The prosecutors failed miserably to prove that the victims allegations were true. The jury just heard the allegations against him and wrongly used the allegations as proof of the truth of the allegations. Idiots. Based on that method of reasoning, anyone could prove any statement to be true merely by simply making the statement, which is plainly ridiculous. If the jurors were logical thinkers, their verdict would easily and quickly have been not guilty. Period. The judicial systems in this nation are a joke, and the lack of correct logical and critical thinking ability in the general American public is astounding.
