Re: “Flash Forward

For the record I was not interviewed for this piece. What is quoted here was from a GRTC meeting where we were finding out more information that hadn't been given to us clearly in the past. Had I been interviewed, I would have mentioned the other issues that myself and over 30+ Broad St. business owners have with this plan. As I said, I absolutely agree that our transit system needs to improve. It takes me over an hour to get to The Savory Grain from Forrest Hill. People in Montrose and Fulton Hill have to wait for an hour for bus service.

When I bought the business almost three years ago, I didn't know "what I was getting myself into". There was and still has been no communication with any property owner or business owner from GRTC or the city regarding this plan.
We are concerned about loosing parking along with the safety of pedestrians, safety of our guests on our patios, the impact the construction will have on all of our lives, along with multiple other concerns. Where are all of these cars going to park at Willow Lawn and Rockets Landing?
I have gone to bat for multiple restaurants in the area and will continue to do so, Pig & Pearl, Emilio's, Level, Broadberry and The Camel just to name a few. This isn't just about me it is about Broad St. As a community, This includes our neighbors who will loose parking in their neighborhoods as well.
We just want something that makes sense, something that is good for the entire community. Please do your research before you jump to conclusions!
