Re: “Deejay Gray, 25

How dare I? Really? I believe you are the one who is remaining anonymous here whoever you are standing on your Deejay Gray Soapbox! I signed my name and am very willing to talk to you and whomever in person that is the very one indeed hiding behind the keyboad "rvatheater." If you call soliticing people via emails to nominate you for such an honor as this being a nomination process done by your peers, you should do stand up. This is a process that should be taken seriously as Richmond has a theater family to be proud of. There are people in this community that do not appreciate some of the behaviors that are happening behind the scenes off stage. Pretend you don't know about it as I am sure whoever you are you are a participant as well. Your comment has zero effect on what I know to be factual. In fact your defense in such a childish way validates the lack of judgement that you too are using in this industry that I cherish. I can just picture you stomping around the room throwing things huffing and puffing like a two year old! This craft is one that needs to be nourished on and off the stage. If you talk the talk you better walk the walk. I will always speak out when it comes to something that I support in this town such as the arts.

Re: “Deejay Gray, 25

This article clearly is written based on what Mr. Gray himself chose to share about himself. I am appalled at Style weekly! People may have voted but you had a duty to your readers to research these people and you did not. Do your homework before you put people in a group of deserving artist that have earned such a title fairly with a clean record that continue to do things the right way and spread a positive message. His social media behavior alone is enough to keep me from ever seeing or supporting anything he is ever involved with in the future. What is wrong with the theatre community in Richmond that it has to turn the other cheek and endorse this type of behavior off the stage? What ever happened to role models and just having a moral compass? I will never read Style again.
