Re: “Standing in Solidarity

For that to happen, Tea Party-ers and anti-abortionists must inspire the next generation. It took DECADES for the nation to hear these anti-gun violence voices and finally challenge the status quo.

Re: “Virginia Lawmakers Considering Airbnb Bill With $10,000 Fine for Illegal Renting

Last year, the chief patron had hotel/motel interests in Williamsburg. Is this the same patron?

Re: “Opinion: Tim Kaine Owes Virginia an Explanation About Jens Soering

I don't understand why Kaine's explanation is unsatisfactory. He's not for Soering's release. He's for his deportation. Just because he may be eligible for release in two years doesn't mean he will be. Kaine is not trying to "free" him. He's trying to get him off the US dole. This article's spin is irresponsible reporting.

Re: “Poe's Biggest Foe: Richmond's Poe Museum Turns the Tables on the Author's Worst Fan

Until I went to UVa, I thought he was thrown off the hallowed lawn for drinking, but it was for gambling. I've always thought of Poe as a troubled man, tortured by the premature deaths of people he loved. I also suspect he was bipolar, depressive, and "high strung;" in other words, an artist.

Re: “Footlights

Anne Forbes is as eloquent as she is beautiful, intelligent, personable and talented. She has show-stopping charisma and a smile that would put bubbles in flat champagne. I am a huge fan and look forward to watching her star rise.

Re: “Preview: Swift Creek’s “The Little Lion” Follows the Life of a Mechanic Among Nazis

Thank you for your interest and attention to this work by Nancy Wright Beasley and me. May I correct a few inaccuracies? The character of Laibale Gilman was not based on Tory. Gilman was a real person, and indeed, descendants (not survivors) of his family were in the audience on opening night, including Sarah, the toddler who Laibale smuggled out of the Kovno ghetto. (She was his niece, by the way, not his sister.) Laibale did not smuggle eight children out of the ghetto.

Avraham Tory's diary was indeed an important resource, but our story features a real family fighting to survive and stay together in occupied Lithuania.

Thank you again for your pre-show coverage of The Little Lion.
