Re: “OPINION: Failing the Test

Well said ... and so sad. Especially given the fact that our recently highjacked meals tax is supposedly being diverted to support our crumbling public schools. It's unfortunate that these dilapidated buildings are staffed with corruption. Time to clean house.

Re: “2018 Best of Richmond

Thank you @Paul Busse. It would appear that Style writers, as a whole, have never seemed to be bothered with the proper execution of language -- or spelling, for that matter ... an unfortunate state of affairs for a weekly periodical.

Re: “Restaurant Owners and City Council Members push for Credit Card Rebate to Offset Meals Tax

"The Mayor is a strong advocate for the business community ... and will continue look for ways to work with business owners to promote their continued development and success." SERIOUSLY? This is an absolutely LUDICROUS statement considering the blow he delt to small business (restaurant) owners with the meals tax! ... and now miraculously "does not have an official stance on the proposed rebate". I call BU[[ S#!T!

Re: “OPINION: Richmond Must Choose Between Better Schools or a Better Bond Rating

Craig: for all of your fluff (and paragraphs) you are simply just promoting the ignorant, short-sighted stance of tax, tax, tax. To what end??? How about School Board and City Council salary cut, salary cut, salary cut ...?

Re: “Quill Theatre’s “Romeo and Juliet” Tackles Issues of Violence and Generational Conflict

... and this classic Shakespearian work somehow delivers a different message other than what it has for hundreds of years?? No, just tell it like it is! -- A lovely production of a classic tragedy.

Re: “Author Reyna Grande Brings a First-Person Look at the Immigration Experience

I will not/do not tolerate discrimination--on any level--under any circumstance. But perhaps it has not occurred to Ms. Grande that the "discrimination she felt which came from my Latino community," ... might be due, in part, to the fact that they, individually or as as a community, had actually EARNED their citizenship ... rather than stealing it. There is a vast difference between discrimination ... and resentment. ... And yet she continues to whine about her ill-gotten, fortunate circumstances ... which she purports to value as "worth fighting for".
