I normally avoid getting involved in discussions pertaining to reviews and features that I'm a part of. I'll keep it simple. I'm sorry you are not a fan of the food. You're entitled to your opinion. I'm not trying to reinvent any wheels, fit into any culinary circles, or make excuses for the food. I just bury my head and cook food that I want people to try. I'll take the food critiques with grace and work harder to alleviate that worry again. I'll also weigh them out against my 3/4 stars from Richmond Times and the positive feedback I get from clientele and reviews I see online that pop up here and there. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. By the way, the Foie Gras wasn't seared or steamed. It was dusted with cane sugar and salt...and torched. ;)

My only real complaints about your review are your irrelevant mention of the ABC laws in reference to food/liquor ratio and your focus really seems to be on the late night aspect of Society. Those are two things people reading about food really have no interest in. There's little mention about wine/cocktail lists (good or bad), constantly changing menus, etc...I mean, it was supposed to be a food review, correct?

I realize I'm slightly feeding the monster here, but those are gripes I don't feel too much concern about airing on public forums. It may come off passive aggressive, but I really am just trying to figure out why the focus didn't stick to food/service. Like I said, I'll take my criticism and run with it, work harder to refine what I'm doing, and go from there.
