Celebrate the kickoff of The Symphony Designer House tour at the Gala Opening Night Party Sept. 8. Tours of the French-country-style home in Founders Bridge start Sept. 11 and run through Oct. 8; additional tours are being conducted the weekends of Oct. 14-15 and 21-22. Friday Nights

Fridays are date nights at the new Color Me Mine in Short Pump. From 5 to 9 p.m., you and a partner can paint your own ceramics for a $15 studio fee, plus the cost of the piece of pottery you paint and take home. Expect candles on the tables to set the mood. Cooking for a cause! The third annual Grand Kitchen Tour features six kitchens in homes along River Road to benefit the Central Virginia Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Oct. 8

Get a sneak peak inside five residences near the intersection of Monument and Park avenues during St. Gertrude's Harvest House Tour. The tour runs 1-5 p.m. Tickets are available through St. Gertrude High School at (804) 358-9114 for $20 or at each home on the day of the show for $25. Proceeds benefit the school.
