Despite some serious regulatory failures and bad business decisions resulting in one of the worst environmental disasters in the nation's history (and solidifying the Gulf Coast as the unluckiest place to call home), the region hardly lacks in community support systems, even as far away as Richmond. With local favorites No BS! Brass and other local musicians, Legend Brewing Company is host to Gulf Give RVA, a benefit concert for the Gulf Restoration Network, a environmental nonprofit dedicated exclusively to protecting and restoring the natural resources of the Gulf of Mexico. With a suggested $10 donation, Gulf Give RVA takes place at Legend from 4 p.m. to midnight, Thursday July 15.. 232-8871. — Mike Hilleary
