Just before capturing his title as winner of the $25,000 Dogwood Classic on Saturday, Sporty is led from the paddock to the starting gate. The 6-year-old gelding, ridden by Mark Beecher and trained by Julie Gomena, is owned by Rock Ford Stables. A track official says it was Sporty's sixth lifetime victory from 23 starts and his second straight win.

The inaugural event drew an estimated 2,000 revelers to Colonial Downs. You can also find hats, dresses and scenes of tailgating to the theme "The Wild Wild West," on the Style Weekly Facebook page.
