Hanson at the Hat Factory

Wednesday, July 28

It's entirely too easy to reduce Hanson brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zac to the bubble-gum aesthetic of their debut album, “Middle of Nowhere,” and its all-too-sunny lead single, “MmmBop.” The truth is, after ushering in an era of teenage hit-makers (Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera and NSync), Hanson actually grew up with an admittedly deft ability to write catchy songs. With melodies imbedded with hooks that draw influence from classicists as the Jackson 5, Elton John and Billy Joel, the trio of brothers has enjoyed an uncanny longevity, producing material under their own independent label. Recently releasing their latest album “Shout It Out,” Hanson performs at the Hat Factory with openers Rooney on Wednesday, July 28, at 7 p.m. $25-$30.
