Half And Half

Half the works are shadow boxes enclosing individual puppets, "kind of like action figures in their own GI Joe-type box," Hulburt says. "The paintings are backdrops for a play, with rolling hills and big giant suns." The combination of the two, Hulburt hopes, will inspire the free-association story lines he experiences in the imaginations of viewers. The reception starts Friday night (Feb. 28) at 7. 2305 E. Broad St. 644-5005. — wayne
