Gwar
Talk about a metal extravaganza, this one delivers. You get two local headliners on a monster bill that includes legends Gwar, plus one of the world’s great thrash metal bands, Municipal Waste, [UPDATE]: High On Fire is no longer playing this show because guitarist Matt Pike had to get one of his toes amputated in an emergency procedure (get well, Matt). Rounding out the bill are the metal-core Miss May I of Troy. Ohio, and Toxic Holocaust from Oregon. 6:30 p.m. $22-$25. thenationalva.com.
