Parquet Courts

One of the best indie rock bands around, New York’s Parquet Courts recall moments from the Stranglers to Pavement. And Gauche is an experimental DC band updating the primitive new wave post punk of the Slits or the Raincoats. Check out Parquet Courts’ eclectic new album, “Wide Awake,” on Rough Trade produced by Brian Burton (Danger Mouse), maybe their best to date with such influences as Grace Jones, Flipper, Big Boys and Augustus Pablo. $10. Starts at 6:30 p.m. venturerichmond.com.
