Re: “Burning Down the House

I, Frank Creasy, do resolve to not support the Firehouse Theatre Project in any way until the founding artistic director, Carol Androski Piersol, is reinstated as artistic director, pending the dissolution of the current Board. I will not create work, nor be in the audience, nor donate to, nor be in support of this space until this happens. If you are an artist (supporter, ticket-buyer, donor, student, technician) please join with us in posting this.

Re: “Firehouse Theatre Turns Hose on Itself

Well I'm very glad to see this conversation turned more civil, and since artistic endeavor is subjective to one's perception (many people don't care for, say, Meryl Streep or Robert DeNiro despite their talent), the fact is that not only is Joe Inscoe a veteran professional of the highest caliber, he's a real commodity in this theatre community. Many patrons will be drawn to a production based on his name alone. When I was cast in a production of On Golden Pond a few years ago, I was thrilled to play a small supporting role just to be on the same stage with Joe. So if Ms. Weiss or others simply did not care for his interpretation of Willy Loman, well, okay. We all are entitled to our own views and perceptions. But the sold out, extended run of Salesman (I saw it, thought Joe was fantastic) is ample evidence that a vast majority loved Joe's performance. As an actor, if you're the lead and your run is extended and performance after performance is sold old, then from a business perspective, well, you've damn well exceeded the expectations of your job.
