A reading group that reads the first chapter of a recent work of fiction together, out loud, then discusses it. This month we are reading the beginning of Hummingbird Salamander by Jeff Vandermeer and discussing Speculative Thrillers and Environmental Literature. Library staff supplements each month with some readers’ advisory on titles related, read-alikes, or genre guidance. As part of a pilot, this group will meet virtually twice per month through August, at 12pm – 1pm and 7pm – 8pm on last Wednesdays. Come to one of the two sessions.
