The city wants you to consider a contribution to the Redskins this holiday. Here are four other sports programs that could use a donation.

1. 10-K training for recovering addicts. The Healing Place, a recovery center for the homeless and drug addicted, fields an annual team in the Monument Avenue 10-kilometer race. Donations of shoes, athletic clothes and cash are taken at thprichmond.org.

2. College-bound student athletes. Assist Student Athletes aims to mentor students in the Richmond Public Schools as they pursue a higher education. assiststudentathletes.org.

3. Youth seeking the great outdoors. The Blue Sky Fund leads after-school, outdoor adventure programs for inner-city children in the Richmond Public Schools and offers scholarships to summer camp. blueskyfund.org.

4. Inner-city boxing. With limited resources and noted success, the Richmond Parks and Recreation Cobra youth boxing team trains at Norrell Elementary School. It could use travel money to send boxers to tournaments. richmondgov.com/parks.
