Join renowned theological scholars and historians for presentations and discussions on how events in Virginia from 1607-1619 inaugurated a shared history of 400 years, weaving together diverse peoples and cultures. This summit explores the African faith journey of over 400 years, beginning in 1619 when the first Africans were enslaved and forcibly migrated to the Virginia colony. The 2019 Commemoration is an occasion not only to appreciate the past, but also for reflection, repentance, reconciliation and healing.
