Event Pick: Three Outdoor Events

Saturday, May 9

It’s the season of outdoor festivities, and this Saturday offers a plethora of reasons to get out of the house. There’s the 36th annual Strawberry Festival in the Fan at William Fox Elementary School, featuring free family-friendly activities, vendors, food and entertainment from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. At Continental Divide, you can enjoy performances from Richmond melody-makers the Sleepwalkers, Imaginary Sons, the Green Boys and others. The Cinco De’vide Block Festival, 2501 W. Main St., kicks off a block party at 12:30 p.m. with admission from $5-$10. Then there’s a homegrown flea market centered on hosts Bandito’s Burrito Lounge, Buddy’s, Caliente, Deco and other business for the Devil’s Triangle Yard Sale, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For information on these events and other ideas, check our calendar listings.
