The world is filled with the hilariously bizarre, arcane and puzzling. That’s what the Druid Underground Film Festival wants to instill in you. Showcasing the vast expanse of outsider found-footage expressions, this traveling film festival was started in 2006 by show-me-weird-things connoisseur Billy Burgess. On Monday, Oct. 5, Movie Club Richmond plays host to the night of cinematic subversions at Strange Matter. There will be a barrage of amateur monster movies, creepy Christian scare films, instructional videos and other assorted VHS oddities shown to baffle, befuddle and amuse. Watch aliens rip their own faces off, learn how to detect if your child worships Satan, perform a home exorcism and much more. The awe-inspiring weirdness kicks in at 7 p.m. Admission is $10. strangematterrva.com.
