Event Pick: Potluck and Puerto Rico Relief Show at the Anderson

The Anderson at Virginia Commonwealth University and the Richmond Cookbook project are presenting a citywide benefit for Puerto Rico relief called the Richmond Potluck on Oct. 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. It will feature homemade items as well as live art and musical performances from CheapGarlic, Drums No Guns, the Sweet Potatoes and Kenneka Cook. There will be an open mic led by poets Mikemetic and Jade Fleming and an art sale by university students. You can drop off donations for Puerto Rico relief at the Anderson. The gallery at 907 1/2 W. Franklin St. is open Tuesdays through Fridays from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Cash or card.
