Event Pick: Good Day RVA at Gallery5

July 1

Good Day RVA

Megan Landrieux

Good Day RVA

Instead of selling out the city to the highest bidder, Richmond should start investing in its own. They’re the best people to tell (and sell) the story.

Take Good Day RVA for example. Using zero tax dollars or outside funding, the Richmond film collective has done more to creatively champion (and sell) the city than any money-sucking vulgarity City Hall has come up with.

On Friday, July 1, Good Day RVA’s ongoing celebration of the creative class marries local music and art on the walls of Gallery5. The televised revolutions are diverse in image and soundtrack, using a range of vintage and modern technologies.

The First Friday opening runs 6-11:30 p.m. and features performances by Houdan the Mystic, We Never, Hill Walkers and Walking Distance. Runs through July 31. gooddayrva.com and gallery5arts.org.
