March 27

Ah yes, the Easter Parade; no other event signifies the beginning of spring and the outdoor social season in our Southern abode more than the annual get-together on the anniversary of the Christian holiday. Religion is not a requirement here: All are welcomed to the melting pot of humanity that surely will gather Sunday, March 27, on Monument Avenue. A people watcher’s paradise, there will be an abundance of pastel-colored entertainment, ingestible items, fancy hats, activities and vendors to lose yourself in on what hopefully will be-fingers crossed-a beautiful spring day. Rain or shine, the free, family-friendly festivities take place from 1-5 p.m. between Allen and Davis avenues. Call 788-6466 or visit venturerichmond.com.
