The Afrikana Film Fest is doing more than presenting an encore showing of “Free Angela and All Political Prisoners.” It’s bringing the subject of the film and an icon of the ’70s black power movement — activist and professor Angela Davis. She appears to discuss the film after its showing Friday, Feb. 24, at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. A former Communist, Davis likely will share her views on the prison-industrial complex and the state of resistance movements such as Black Lives Matter. The event is at 7 p.m. $15-$25.
