The Evensong will feature St. Paul’s Choir under the direction of Charles K. Lindsey, Jr., Organist and Choirmaster and Conducting Assistants, Kelsey Snyder and Joe MacDonald.The music will include the following motets: I Will Not Leave You Comfortless – William Byrd (c. 1540-1623), If Ye Love Me – Thomas Tallis (c. 1505-1585), and O God, the King of Glory – Henry Purcell (1659-1695). The service music will include Evening Service in A – Herbert Sumsion (1892-1983) and Preces and Responces – Richard Ayleward (1626-1669). Immediately following the Evensong, there will be a concert featuring Colleen Potter on the harpand Benjamin Thorburn, bass baritone. The husband-and-wife duo will present French and American songs for voice and harp, including music by Naderman, Grandjany, and Copland. Although this is a free event, a freewill offering will be taken benefiting the Joseph A. Whittle Music and Arts Fund of St. Paul’s.
