Tom Whiteside is a filmmaker, film historian, and director of Durham Cinematheque in North Carolina. Films on the Working from the Archive program date from 1909 to 1963. As Richmond and Durham historically share an interest in tobacco, there will be two selections from the Nicotine Cinema collection. The main piece on the program is "Interviewed," an archival extrapolation featuring six anonymous interviews filmed in Salt Lake City in 1960, made in collaboration with audio artist Khristian Weeks.
