Downtown Memories

The Community Idea Stations (WCVE Richmond PBS) needs you to take a stroll down memory lane. With the latest efforts to revamp downtown, the station plans to dedicate a segment of its popular series, "Richmond Memories," to the history of downtown Richmond.

Any memories will do, too: shopping at Berry-Burke or Montaldo's, dining at the Richmond Room or the White Tower, hanging out in famous areas, memories of the most exciting aspect of the area as a child, or almost anything else you can conjure. Videos, pictures, memorabilia and testimonies are all welcome to relay stories.

"Richmond Memories" first aired in 1995, and because of its popularity, other segments spawned from it. This program is the first in the series to focus solely on downtown. The program is scheduled to run in March 2002.

So put on your thinking cap and if a flashback comes to mind, call Sharon Johnson at 560-8165. Do not send any material. Details can also be found at www.ideastations.org
