There’s no question whether the emotions behind the songs of folk artists Doug and Telisha Williams are real. The duo grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and that influence is evident on its new record, “Ghost of the Knoxville Girl,” which gives a voice to everyday people and the ghosts of the past. The two are known for their open, inviting personalities and tremendous stage presence, leading audience members to feel like old friends during the show. Doug and Telisha Williams perform at Ashland Coffee and Tea on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 8 p.m. $10-$15. 798-1702.
