Re: “Noisy Throwbacks

And exactly how is anyone supposed to figure out the D.I.Y. 'status' of a venue if the address, directions, concert dates and a photograph of the venue are all posted on the world's largest online concert calendar? You may indeed have a beef with someone about this but it isn't me or Style Weekly. Also: I hope you anonymous commenters will please give specifics when you level charges. Which venues did we shut down again? And can you explain what you mean by our 'constant need to [expletive] up everything underground in this city"?

Not to harp on this but also has a photograph of the venue, along with address and driving directions. And I assume that the publicist who contacted us about the show, and helped me set up the interview (which was freely given), didn't know that this was all supposed to be a secret.

Re: “Noisy Throwbacks

The address and contact information for this venue is freely and conspicuously available on, the largest online calendar for concert dates in the world. Not only did I not "blow up" this venue, the information about this venue and all of its concert dates have been available to readers for some time. If the venue is in trouble, it does suck. But criticizing me for informing readers of facts freely disseminated worldwide -- or for the city's ongoing war on fun -- would be a bit misguided.
