David Allen Coe at Toad's Place

He's a country singer and songwriter who may or may not have been on death row for killing an inmate. He has a few albums that you just can't play in public. On the other hand, he sang his own version of “You Never Even Call Me By My Name” and wrote “Take This Job and Shove It.” So I leave it to you: How do you take your country? Are you a Billy Ray Cyrus or a David Allan Coe? He plays Toad's Place with Boss Kean's Ditch on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. $20-$30. 648-TOAD.
