Crusade President Joins Race

Antione Green, president of the Richmond Crusade for Voters, says he'll run for House of Delegates seat.

Richmond Crusade for Voters President Antione Green says he will challenge Richmond School Board member Betsy Carr in the Democratic primary for the seat being vacated by long-standing Richmond Delegate Frank Hall.

Green, now 30, ran for a seat on Henrico County's School Board in 2003, but lost. He's since moved to the city and worked for Delegate Joe Morrissey as a legislative aide, in addition to working with single mothers at SEC Solutions, which provides job training to women transitioning off government assistance.

The filing deadline to get on the Democratic primary ballot is April 10. The primary takes place June 9.
