Chasing Arrows at Capital Ale House

There's a special kind of satisfaction in recognizing the potential of a particular individual or group and seeing years later that it hasn't gone to waste. Clearly past their days of playing covers around the Christopher Newport University campus, the members of Chasing Arrows have graduated (or dropped out) to become a proper rock ensemble, playing the kind of radio-friendly tunes that lack only a station to sufficiently broadcast them. Having already released a self-produced debut album, garnered some accolades from MTV-U (the college version) and even opened for national acts such as the Plain White T's, you can witness the group's further fruition at 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Capital Ale House. $5. 780-ALES.
