The Central Virginia Civil War Collectors Association will hold its Jan. 23 meeting with a program with speaker Bruce Venter, the author of "Kill Jeff Davis: the Union Raid on Richmond, 1864." He is going to share the fascinating story of this attempt by federal cavalry led by Brig. Gen. Judson Kilpatrick that had as its primary goal the freeing of Union troops held prisoner in Richmond. There will also be recognition for the best presentation of 2017 and best relic of 2017.
