This all-things Celtic tradition includes highland dancing, Irish feis, whiskey tastings, massed bands, piping and drumming competitions, and of course, hurling and ax throwing. The bands Fighting Jamesons and Albannach are scheduled to play the main stage — and there will be vendors hawking food, jewelry, pottery and sweet kilts. The event has raised more than a half a million dollars in the past 5 years for local charities. Admission costs $15 for one day and $25 for two through Oct. 26. Day-of admission is $20 for one day, $30 for two. There’s free parking and dogs are permitted with $5 donation and proof of rabies vaccination. richmondraceway.com.
