Broken Social Scene at Toad's Place

The members of Broken Social Scene are not very good at producing solo material, because whenever one of them goes into a studio to record, he or she winds up inviting the rest of the gang to help play a part. Such is the case with founder Brendan Canning's collection of songs, “Something for All of Us,” a work that's the second in a series of “Broken Social Scene presents …” albums. Known for its layered and experimental sound, manifested by chaotic stage-busy performances, this seven-piece ensemble can be seen at Toad's Place Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 8 p.m. $15-$20. 648-8623.
