Virginia historian Brent Tarter will deliver "On Equal Terms With Men," discussing Virginia's role in the Women's Suffrage Movement and why Virginia did not adopt the 19th Amendment until 1952. A Q&A will follow his remarks. He will be available to sign two of his books, Virginians and Their Histories and The Woman's Suffrage Campaign in Virginia. Brent Tarter is a retired historian and editor at the Library of Virginia, a founding editor of the Library's Dictionary of Virginia Biography project, the author of numerous articles in scholarly journals, and the author, co-author, editor, or co-editor of sixteen books.
