Know many local authors? Like many beers? Whether you answer a) no and yes, b) yes and yes, or even c) no and no, you should check out Chop Suey Books’ first Books and Beer Holiday Brew Ho Ho at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. This celebratory market will have local books for sale — representing more than 25 local authors such as National Book Award finalist Kevin Powers (“The Yellow Birds”), Dean King, and rising visual artists and poets Noah Scalin and Allison Titus. There will be music by the Samson Trinh Trio and plenty of Gingerbread Stout flowing as well as local food trucks. In addition, Richmond Young Writers will hold workshops. Writing is a lonely pursuit. Drinking beer shouldn’t be. Come have your quirks or drunken outbursts immortalized at a later date. Sunday, Dec. 14, 3-6 p.m., free. hardywood.com.
