There's no getting around it: Doing yoga in a hot, humid room is going to make you sweaty. That's why Hot House Yoga near Innsbrook puts so much emphasis on hygiene. Mildew-resistant cork floors and disinfecting heaters keep its studios sanitary, while the bathrooms provide bags for your workout clothes, along with showers, shampoo, conditioner and hair dryers. Opened in 2005 by the Yax family of Virginia Beach, Hot House Yoga has classes seven days a week taught by Yoga Alliance-certified instructors, including an introductory challenge for new yogis. With locations in Stony Point and Short Pump, Bikram Yoga Richmond practices the intense original workout developed by yoga guru Bikram Choudhury, while Yoga Source in Carytown offers a variety of classes for all types of yogis, including prenatal yoga, gentle yoga for seniors and even itsy-bitsy yoga for infants and toddlers.
