Best Technique for Taking Out an Armed Intruder

If a gunman walks into your workplace, “What are you going to do?” asks Tina Buck, owner of Guardian Angel Protection. Most people say they’ll hide. “Then I point to the person who’s cowering under their desk: ‘Boom. You’re dead.'”

Buck teaches office groups what to do instead: Escape, if possible, or lock or barricade the door. The third option, she says, is for one person in the office to step up and lead a counterattack with whatever weapons are on hand. One colleague can swing her purse, another throw a chair, and two more go for the gun. That, she says, is how you “become a member of the survivor club.”
