Best Local Meteorologist

Readers' Pick

Andrew Freiden, NBC-12

Second Place: Jim Duncan, NBC-12

Third Place: Dave Tolleris, WxRisk.com

If you stacked them up, the votes that Andrew Freiden draws in the Best of Richmond poll are nearly as tall as he is. Seriously, his numbers rival those in most other categories. You may not know how to spell his name exactly right, but you love this hometown guy. First, he's a good forecaster, NBC-12 News Director Frank Jones says. But he's also engaging: "Andrew is not only a dynamic meteorologist, but he has a likeable personality that is contagious. He is the kind of person you want to wake up to each day when you turn on the TV." Freiden's colleague, Jim Duncan, is a longtime presence on the station and brings experience to the table. And you may not see him every morning, but Dave Tolleris throws an independent voice into the mix. His WxRisk.com advertises a specialty in weather for "traders, investors and businesses."
