Voters are still in a fever for a salon that marries skill with sex appeal. It was another busy year for the six-year-old Bombshell, which has three locations and continues to work on plans to open a fourth in Las Vegas. Bombshell owners Scott and Melissa Black spent a lot of time there last year nailing down details. In the meantime, the company launched Melissa’s line of waxes, Candy Coat Beauty. Parlor opened last July in the Arts District and is drawing raves for its earthy, artsy vibe and the warmth of its owner-stylists Mahri Jones and Kate Montgomery. Serendipity’s owner and stylist Rebekah Howard calls her still-new salon “a jewel in Midlothian” and voters agree. All new clients receive goodie-bag welcomes and complimentary neck, shoulder and hand massages. Goodbye gray. Goodbye tension.
