What sets Cater 2 Events apart from other caterers and likely made it come in first place is that it’s a boutique catering company. As such, it creates menus and spaces that bring clients’ personal style and vision of hospitality to life. A full-service catering company from start to finish, Cater 2 Events does everything from small showers, brunches, lunches and cocktail parties to larger events like rehearsal dinners, weddings, fundraisers and corporate events.

“I’m a people person and I love to entertain, so the best part about being a caterer is that I constantly interact with people and get to know them personally,” says owner Lona Crittenden. “They become my friends and I have the pleasure of making them happy with the menus and food I create for their events.”

In its quest to meet the highest standard of both food and fun, Cater 2 Events collaborates with the area’s top event planners and venues while developing creative menus inspired by seasonal and local ingredients, elegantly presented and professionally served.

Having longstanding, loyal clients who sing its praises helps spread the word about Cater 2 Events, but Crittendon also makes liberal use of marketing to stay on brand and tell her company’s story. It’s textbook stuff, but keeping its website up to date, emailing periodic newsletters to clients and staying focused on social media presence ensures that it attracts new customers and stay in touch with current ones.

“Winning awards like Style Weekly’s ‘Best Of’ lets current and prospective customers know what our clients think of us,” she says.
