You’d be hard-pressed to find a Richmond bartender whom people seem to instinctively like more than Kevin Sheffield. When asked what makes a great bartender, he doesn’t hesitate: “giving people a show each night, remembering their drinks and building relationships with each customer,” he says. “Throwing a party every night.” And a large variety of people get to attend that party, considering he works at four different bars in a given week. A grind? Doesn’t seem to be. “I never get bored of one,” Sheffield says. And for the second year, voters clearly aren’t bored with him.
