Hall of Famer O’Toole’s Restaurant & Pub Right has excelled at attracting pint-loving neighbors for a long time. The adored Irish spot is going on its 52nd year. It has one of the area’s biggest St. Patrick’s Day festivals and a brisk weeknight business — not to mention a fantastic happy hour. No stranger to acclaim, Southbound is still a relative newcomer to the south-of-the-river dining scene. But that hasn’t stopped people from coming out in droves. Bar Manager Pete Konrad thinks the popularity is because it isn’t adverse to change. “Southbound attracts the community of Bon Air and surrounding neighborhoods because we keep things new and exciting, never stagnant,” Konrad says. “I feel like we excel at getting people to try new things, especially with wine and spirits.”
