Richmond is chockablock with auto service centers. Many are part of dealerships that command big tracts of property on West Broad Street, Hull Street and Midlothian Turnpike and require considerable driving to reach. And some customers complain of uneven service. City dwellers can rejoice that there are a number of good urban garages to do the job quickly and inexpensively. Voters say the best is Paradise Garage in the Fan, which gives you a square deal. And while you wait you can sample some of the neighborhood coffee shops or play pool in the waiting room. Runner-up Allen Tire has six locations in the Richmond area, and Simply Import, off Azalea Avenue near Brook Road, likewise is city-focused.
