Second Place: P.F. Chang's China Bistro
Third Place: Peking Restaurant
We've never walked into Mekong to find it empty. Whether it's 2 p.m. on a Sunday or 9 on a school night, the spacious, unassuming restaurant on West Broad Street is buzzing, especially its back bar. The broth in Mekong's pho is fragrant with Saigon cinnamon. The spring rolls are perfectly greasy and crispy. The basil chicken is sweet and spicy, and the fried tofu is delightfully chewy. And then there's the big selection of Belgian and American craft beer. Richmonders also freak over the lettuce wraps at second-place winner P.F. Chang's in Stony Point Fashion Park. And you can always count on the local chain Peking for classic Chinese.
