Andy Vaughan and the Driveline at Canal Club

Friday, Dec. 16

After four years as the front man for the rockabilly and roots-rock group Hamburger James, Andy Vaughan decided to start a project focusing on the country and honky-tonk music that he loved so much. Within weeks, Andy Vaughan and the Driveline formed, landing in the studio to record a strong debut album, “Long Gone.” Although the band is young, already it’s been cited by fans as some of the most “real” country heard in the region. Andy Vaughan and the Driveline will celebrate their first anniversary at the Holiday Hoedown, a barn-dance style show featuring country and bluegrass acts including Loversville, Lee Harris and Country Sunshine and the Slack Family. The hoedown goes down at the Canal Club on Friday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m. $10. 643-2582.
