Amal Kassir is a Syrian American poet, born and raised in Denver Colorado. She is a two-time TED speaker, and has performed & taught in 13 countries and over 100 cities in venues ranging from orphanages to refugee camps to youth prisons. Her poetry and community work are deeply tied, in an effort to bring light into darkness and darkness into light for a more just and well-rounded world. Following the theme of "Trinkets In My Suitcase: Unpacking Identity", this show is a journey across the cracks between lands, cultures, and languages.
