Adopt Dogs Here

You have great photos of four dogs up for adoption ("Summer Guide," Cover Story, May 23). You have a redundant sentence accompanying the photos which reflects your prejudice for the RSPCA, as usual.

I quote, "head to the nearest animal shelter or group, or the Richmond SPCA." The RSPCA is a group, and it is a shelter. Why did you name it and only it? Why not name Richmond Animal League, BARK, SHARE, CARE, CFC, etc? All are animal groups and all are shelters.

However, you single out the RSPCA and name it only. How about an article on all the other groups who place thousands of animals a year on a shoestring? Did you even know that there are about 30 other groups in the immediate Richmond area alone?
